Denise Ingamells: Professional Practice Consultant & Head of Mediation
In August 2013, Denise became the Head of Mediation and the PPC for Kent Family Mediation Services. Denise is a FMC (Family Mediation Council) accredited family mediator.
She is a qualified Legal Aid Agency Accredited Family Mediator. Denise authored the Separated Parents Information Programme (SPIP) and accompanying handbook on behalf of Relate for Cafcass. She has also delivered training on delivering the SPIP (Separated Parents Information Programme) to approximately three hundred SPIP Practitioners around England.
Denise trained as a Relationship Counsellor with Relate in 1995, qualified as an “all issues” Family Mediator with NFM (National Family Mediation) in January 2002 and as a Professional Practice Consultant in 2005. Prior to this she managed a large mediation service for Relate in North East London for eight years and developed training for a range of organisations including the NHS, and the homeless charity, St Mungo’s. Denise is also the Chair of Governors at a Primary School.
Denise was awarded the Avril Reid Award for Innovation in Mediation by the President of National Family Mediation in 2007, and she also won the Dispute Resolution Practitioner of the Year Award in 2012.
Paula Morvan: Family Mediator
Adv. Dip in Humanistic Counselling, Post Grad Dip in Play Therapy, Cert in Counselling Skills
Paula is a qualified Legal Aid Agency Accredited Family Mediator and is a member of the UK College of Mediators. Paula is also an FMC (Family Mediation Council) accredited Family Mediator. She has an Advanced Diploma in Counselling. Paula is also accredited by the Legal Aid Agency to consult directly with children.
Paula has been a Family Mediator since 2003 and has worked as a School Counsellor for the past eight years. She acts as a Consultant for Cafcass and also undertakes parent coaching and counselling. Paula is a SPIP (Separated Parents Information Programme) Presenter and she was also a Presenter for Kent Family Mediation’s, Children First and Parenting After Separation Workshops.
Bernardina Selemane: Family Mediator
Bernardina is an FMC (Family Mediation Council) accredited Family Mediator. She completed her foundation studies in Family Mediation in 2005, with Key Mediation Training and Consultancy. Bernardina was employed for nine years as a Mediation Coordinator with South East London Family Mediation Bureau (SELFMB). During this time she also trained and practiced as a Neighbourhood Mediator, and as ‘in Court’ Mediator in association with Cafcass, at Bromley County Court.
In 2011 Bernardina gained her Legal Aid Agency Accreditation and since this time, she been working for Kent Family Mediation Service as a Family Mediator. Bernardina is also a presenter for the Cafcass & Family Court SPIP Workshops.
Martha Monday: Family Mediator
BA (Hons), FE Teachers Certificate
Martha is a qualified Legal Aid Agency accredited Family Mediator and an FMC (Family Mediation Council) accredited Family Mediator.. After many years of working in the Family Courts, Martha began Mediating in 1998, when she trained with Medway Mediation in Community Mediation, dealing with neighbourhood disputes. Martha then worked on a freelance basis for other organisations, and gained training and experience in workplace and SEN mediation. She qualified with ADR as an accredited Family Mediator in November 2011 and she joined Kent Family Mediation Service in August 2011.
Martha is also a Barrister, having been called to the Bar in 1998. She attended Bristol University where she gained a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM)
Martha possesses a great deal of experience in working with people at crisis points in their lives, in conflict with each other, or bewildered as to the way forward. Martha is also a presenter for the Cafcass & Family Court SPIP Workshops.
Sarah Emanuel: Family Mediator
BA (Hons), Solicitor
Sarah is both a Legal Aid Agency Accredited Family Mediator and an FMC (Family Mediation Council) accredited Family Mediator. Sarah joined Kent Family Mediation Service in 2011. Sarah is a qualified Solicitor and has she also worked as a Welfare Advisor and a School Governor for nine years.
Sarah says “Family Mediation is rewarding when, having met people at a low point in their lives, you can help them to consider and discuss more options than they thought they had and to arrive at a fair resolution and the hope of a new start.

Craig Brooks: Family Mediator
BA (Hons), Solicitor
Craig is a qualified Legal Aid Agency accredited Family Mediator with Kent Family Mediation Service. Craig is also an FMC (Family Mediation Council) accredited Family Mediator and a SPIP (Separated Parents Information Programme) Presenter. He is a graduate in Psychology, qualifying in 2007 from the College of Law. Craig is a qualified Solicitor and also practices in Civil and Commercial Mediation. Prior to commencing his legal career, Craig ran his own music management business and he was also an instructor in martial arts. Craig is also a presenter for the Cafcass & Family Court SPIP Workshops in Kent.
Karen Clarke: Service Manager
Karen is the Service Manager at Kent Family Mediation Service. Karen oversees the day to day running of the organisation and is supported by a team of four administrators. Prior to joining the service, Karen worked as a Customer Services Manager for the Prudential.
Michelle: Senior Family Mediation Administrator
